This feature is for super users
only. It is designed for ePortfolios and personal websites in
a University setting. The feature allows you to specify LDAP search criteria,
that if matched will authenticate a user and generate a Caravel site
in a predefined directory. For example, a university wanting to offer
personal web space to students could specify that someone authenticating
successfully whose PersonAffiliation = student will get a new site
generated in the users directory.
1. Create a site that you would like to be used for web
space. People in your directory will start off with their
site looking like this original. This will allow you to have
consistency even though there are many users inputting their own
content.
2. From the Add Block Menu on the Edit Column/Header/Footer bar, choose Add Feature.
3. Choose DyanmicSite.
4. A pop up window will ask you for different information about
your potential users. The fields will already have some default
information supplied for you. Make sure that the attributes
set in LDAP match up with those that you set. Click Save and
Preview.
5. A login box will appear for your users to log in.
