Content on the caravel Web page is divided up into blocks. Blocks can be moved around on a page: When the mouse is in the bar next to the block tools, it turns into a four-headed arrow or hand, and the block can be dragged to another location with the mouse. (See figure 1.8).
Using the admin sidebar
Depending on your personal settings, you may or may not have the caravel admin sidebar (figure 1.9) located to the left of your screen.
Click the << or X to toggle sidebar visibility (figure 1.10).
The caravel admin sidebar provides the user with a site navigator, block clipboard, page help and trash clipboard. To maximize a certain clipboard, click on its name.
The site navigator allows users to quickly locate pages via a drop-down filing system, as opposed to clicking the correct sequence of links on the live Web site.
The block clipboard acts as a storage bin, making it easy to copy and move blocks to other pages. To copy a block to another page, drag it to the block clipboard, navigate to the appropriate page, and drag the block from the clipboard to the desired location. Holding down the control key while dragging will duplicate the block, keeping it in the sidebar for future use.
Page help serves as a customizable self-help directory. Click on the help icon in the top right-hand corner of the caravel page to create, add, remove or edit a help file. The changes will appear in the page help directory.
Delete an entire block by clicking on the trashcan icon. Doing so will move it to the trash clipboard. Retrieve a deleted block by dragging it out of the trash clipboard back onto the page.
