Edit the Web page settings by using the toolbar located in the upper-right portion of your screen (see figure 1.4). Hovering (lingering with your mouse) over each tool should initiate a drop-down menu with further options. The two most commonly used tools are the publish button and the preview button.
Publishing button and publishing modes
If your page is set to dynamic mode, then whenever you save changes to a page, the public will see those changes as soon as you "save". The publishingstatus button is always green in dynamic mode.
But perhaps you'd like to make a change to a page and have someone else review or edit your changes before going public with new information: You can set your page to static mode. After you've made changes to a page,
the publishing status button is red. When anyone else with login privileges logs in to your site, they'll see your edits. The public will not see your edited page until you publish the page by choosing publish from the publishing status drop-down menu (see figure 1.6).
To toggle between the two modes, click on “Use Published” or “Use Dynamic” (see figures 1.5 and 1.6).
Changing the mode of one page doesn’t change the mode of the other pages in your department.
The Preview button
Clicking the Preview button allows you to view the page as it would appear if you weren't logged in to Caravel.
In static mode, you'd also see your edits when previewing.
To return to edit mode, click on the pencil button.
